Alarm has been raised by a parastatal over fleecing of funds by a Cabinet Secretary.
The story carried in a local daily alleges that the CS has been soliciting for funds from one of the parastatals and using it to advance his political interests.
The CS had apparently asked for the funds for purposes of promoting a government campaign under his watch, however it turns out he is spending the money on political meetings in a high-end hotel.
It is said that the parastatal’s Chief Executive Officer is concerned that this will cause audit queries as the state agency’s books of account will not balance.
The anti-graft body, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has been called upon to step in and stop the CS.
