The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has revealed that it recovered a massive Kshs. 22.8billion worth of stolen public funds and properties in the last three years.

Further to this, the Commission is pursuing recovery of Kshs.33billion in various courts across the country. This has been occasioned by the Commission investing in specialized training for its staff as well as continuous professional development resulting in high quality investigations and professional handling of suspects.

The Commission also concluded 501 investigations on corruption and other integrity offenses. The cases include high impact, high value cases involving Governors, Senators, members of Parliament, Managing Directors of state Corporations among other senior public officials.

These achievements have been realized despite great hindrances such as budgetary constraints, and gaps in the legal frameworks, barring its effectiveness to deter corruption and in enforcement of integrity in the public service.
