The National Treasury has raised Kshs. 3billion from proceeds of corruption recoveries. The revenues accrued from forfeited assets, fines, and penalties from public officials caught out engaging in corruption.

In its report for Financial Year 2021/2022, Treasury surpassed their Kshs.2.2billion target to net the 3billion.

The recoveries follows growing achievements in the fight against corruption by anti-graft agencies including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Office of Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

Collaborative efforts amongst the agencies working under a multi-agency approach as well as focus on high net cases has contributed massively to the recoveries.
