Nyandarua County government could be the next county their dirt and corruption scandals will be unearthed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Following a raid by EACC investigators, to probe an alleged embezzlement of Ksh.55 million in the county head office in Ol Kalou. The detectives confiscated documents related to the county branding tender by a company allegedly linked to the son of a senior county official.
According to the anti-graft agency central region manager, Charles Rasugu the raid targeted Governor Francis Kimemia’s office and the department of finance to enable the agency crack the tender case that was issued in 2019. Further, the region manager pointed out that the probe was also about a county investment forum function that never was despite the money being spent.
In 2019, Ndegwa Wahome, the then County Speaker of Nyandarua County assembly, blew the whistle claiming that some county officials held an investors conference at Sh13 million in March with the money hoarded in private accounts.
